Explore exotic, sacred Belly dance at bliss, embrace the beauty of your unique shape, have fun, and meet other adventurous Participants who aren’t afraid to let it roll. Wear comfy clothes. We have plenty of fans, flags and hip shawls to share. The first five minutes is generally a stretch and warm up of the muscles. Then we explore the way that the different parts of the body express itself with movement… the head, chest, arms, midsection, stomach, hips and of course the legs. Then we will combine these movements with mini combinations and practice simple choreography that everyone can do using authentic music from Egypt, Turkey and other middle eastern countries. Many styles of Middle Eastern dance will be highlighted including Egyptian, Turkish, Folkloric and Moroccan. We will also introduce many props used in Middle Eastern dance including: the veil, zil, sword, cane and silk fans. This class is facilitated by a seasoned dancer and performer who lives to share her art. Her teacher was Jasmine who was a muse of Eddie Kocheck. When she turned 18, she studied Egyptian Cabaret. Performances were made in the Chicago Art Institute where she attended college. She performed at private parties in Chicago Phoenix and Denver. She taught her skills wherever she danced. Her textile business led her to Turkey. Shakti fell in love with Istanbul. She eventually had a house and a dance studio close to the Blue Mosque. Her contacts led to many teaching opportunities, performances and development of a belly dance certification program from Istanbul Dreams. Through them she danced at corporate events, restaurants and taught different styles of belly dance. Performances: Orient house Istanbul, Hilton Nile Cairo Egypt, Nile. The purpose of this group is to serve as an instructional forum for those with an interest in understanding the afterlife and tapping into or further developing their intuitive and Spirit communication skills. Connecting Across the Veil incorporates a different lesson every month to help the Participant gain exposure and knowledge of the tools and methods to enhance their Spiritual sensitivities and abilities. Classes also include psychic exercises, group readings, and discussions of scientific research as it pertains to case studies about the afterlife. It is the intention that this class will allow Participants to elevate their communication skills with Spirit so that messages received may bring clarity, peace, validity, and comfort. Whether you are a Medium, Empath, Psychic, Sensitive, or Intuitive it is the hope that this class will be a collective collaboration learning from Spirit and each other as we connect across the veil. Through the years, she showed signs of other intuitive abilities. These sensitivities to Spirit accompanied with paranormal events, telepathic episodes, and visitation dreams became common occurrences. After having several family members pass to the other side, she observed a surge in her abilities along with an increase in paranormal incidents. Heather continued with years of self-study and has also taken formal Mediumship classes. In 2019, she received her Holy Fire Reiki Level II certification. Since June of 2018, Heather has been a Facilitator of the monthly Mediumship classes at bliss. Heather is considered an Evidential Medium, which is one who can validate specific details about those who have crossed over.
