2nd Saturday bliss Creates Mixed Media Slow Stitch
Slow stitching or intuitive sewing combines techniques and traditions from quilting, mending, embroidery, Japanese Sashiko and Indian Kantha. Common and versatile stitches will be taught along with embroidery stitches.
In this class we will create a small art piece with scraps of cotton fabric and embroidery floss. Slow stitching requires you to be fully engaged. With every stitch you will find a deeper sense of calm. We will explore color, texture, composition and make space for a quiet, mindful practice.
There will be lots of interesting fabric, beautiful embroidery thread and a variety of needles. If you feel inspired, you are welcome to bring some cloth, lace, textile scraps, etc.
